Every year, Gravity offers a year placement at our Bracknell office to a University student. In recent years we have taken students from Bath, Plymouth, and Loughborough. Their time spent with us enables them to further their technical knowledge and gain practical design experience. They also gain an understanding of how a business is run and can see what their career path as a Structural Engineer could look like. With training, Undergraduate employees become a great support to the existing team and senior members of staff are given the opportunity to mentor and sharing their knowledge. It is a win-win scenario and feedback from past students has been very positive. So positive, in fact, that past students have accepted positions to return to work for us full time once they’ve completed their studies.

“My time at Gravity has been extremely rewarding. I received helpful guidance at the start of my placement and was eventually given more responsibility to take on more tasks as a structural engineer. By the end of my placement, I have similar responsibility as a full-time employee and felt that my work is a key part of the structural design of the project.”
