Mark Ryan

Founding Director

Chartered Engineer, CEng MIStructE MFB

Mark has 27 years of site and office based experience in the construction industry in a variety of sectors, working for leading engineering companies. He established Gravity Consulting Engineers Ltd in October 2009 in the midst of a recession. Mark is highly driven, and has successfully built Gravity Consulting Engineers into a company of like-minded engineers and technicians who provide a consistently high quality service to our clients.

Mark recognises the importance of understanding our clients’ needs, as well as the needs of his engineers and technicians. He continues to have a hands-on role in design and drawing quality, and a leading role in staff training.

Tony Watkin

Director

Chartered Engineer, MEng CEng MIStructE

Tony graduated with a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Loughborough University in 2002, and has since worked for engineering consultancies to successfully deliver overseas and domestic projects. His experience covers residential and mixed use developments, offices, schools, commercial and industrial buildings, as well as structures for the onshore oil and gas industry.

Tony joined Gravity Consulting Engineers in 2013. He is a highly efficient and pragmatic Structural Engineer with a calm disposition that earns him respect from our staff. Tony is responsible for managing teams of engineers and CAD technicians who support our existing clients, and to collectively promote our growing business portfolio to new clients.

Jon Evans

Director

Chartered Engineer, MEng CEng MICE

Jon is a driven and determined Structural Engineer with experience working in a variety of sectors. Jon graduated with a 1st Class Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Cardiff University in 2011. Prior to joining Gravity Consulting Engineers he worked for a leading engineering consultancy delivering successful multi-disciplinary projects both domestically and abroad.

With a keen eye on buildability and efficiency, Jon is adept at developing innovative solutions that deliver both structurally and for the client. Jon works within the Gravity leadership to manage a strong team of engineers and technicians, with a focus on development to ensure Gravity deliver quality on time every time.

Nathan Quantrill

Director

Nathan has been with Gravity Consulting Engineers Ltd since 2013. He qualified as a Structural CAD technician in 2002 and has accrued 16 years experience in both CAD and Revit producing construction standard detailed drawings for a variety of projects. He helps support and develop more junior technicians and is able to communicate Engineers’ designs effectively to the construction teams. He has stepped up to the demands of increased responsibility and is crucial to the Gravity team in delivering high quality CAD & Revit construction drawings.

Rudolph Campher

Associate BEng

Rudolph attained of his BEng Civil Engineering degree from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa in 2011. In 2022, Rudolph embarked on a new chapter when he relocated to the United Kingdom and joined the Gravity family. His ascent within the company saw him achieve the position of Associate in April 2023. Rudolph plays a pivotal role in Gravity, specialising in scheme designs at both the preliminary and detailed levels. His expertise covers various sectors and geographical boundaries, making him a versatile asset to the team. Additionally, he is adept in the management of internal resources, ensuring seamless project execution.

Rudolph’s proficiency lies in the analysis and design of reinforced concrete and structural steel elements. His commitment to delivering projects on time, maintaining quality, adhering to budget constraints, and allocating the right resources aligns seamlessly with Gravity’s dedication to exceeding client expectations.

Becky Ryan

Finance Manager

Becky has been part of Gravity since its inauguration in 2009, supporting the setup of the company and its day-to-day operations. Her role has evolved over the years, and she now looks after financial planning, analysis, and management of the company. Her expertise cover budgeting, forecasting, risk management, financial reporting, and strategic financial decision-making. She has successfully guided Gravity through periods of growth, cost reduction initiatives, and complex financial challenges that face the structural engineering industry.

Her resounding passion is to see Gravity succeed on all fronts, with a focus on client satisfaction by offering an unbeatable service, staff loyalty by ensuring employees feel valued and their project experience keeps them challenged and to maintain a company that everyone is proud to work for.

Vaseem Ather

Director (India)

BEng, MSc

Vaseem has BEng and MSc qualifications along with 20 years experience working as a Structural designer on projects for some of the largest construction companies in the UK. He qualified in 2000 with a degree in Civil Engineering and went on to achieve a Masters in Structural Design in 2006.
He has been with Gravity for 13 years and during this time has demonstrated his loyalty and hard work ethic culminating in him setting up our overseas office. As director he manages a rapidly growing team of CAD technicians, RC detailers and Structural engineers, together they provide an invaluable resource for the UK office.

Omer Mohammed

Director (India)

BEng, M.Sc, MICE

Omer graduated with a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from London South Bank University in 2004, and has since worked for engineering consultancies. His experience covers low rise residential houses, commercial and retail buildings, high rise residential buildings, industrial sites and refurbishment projects.

Omer joined the UK office back in January 2013 and relocated to India in April 2014. He demonstrated commitment, consistently working hard and progressively taking on more responsibility in the company in terms of project management, as well as assisting Vaseem with the overall management and growth of the India office.

Abdul Naser

Director BTech MTech MBA (India)

Abdul graduated with a BEng in Civil Engineering in 2014, he went on to specialise in Structural Engineering, gaining his Masters in 2016.

After spending four months as a Site Engineer; Abdul joined the Gravity family at their Hyderabad office working his way up from a Graduate Engineer to a highly valued Principal Engineer, a significant accomplishment and a testament to his skills and contribution.

Staying calm under pressure, Abdul is an excellent team leader and an inspiration to staff. Making decisions and problem solving with complete professionalism, as seen, Abdul has a significant impact on team morale and productivity. In maintaining excellent client relations, he has played an important part in the overall success and growth of the company.

Lauretta Murray

Office Manager (India)

Lauretta has over 20 years of work experience in administrative support and customer service and has a thorough understanding of the principles of customer service along with an approachable manner. In addition to this, she has experience working in a diverse team, which has enabled her to have an excellent rapport with managers, customers and co-workers, always willing to help others. She has a wealth of office experience, undertaking a wide range of activities on a daily basis including Investigating, problem solving, making decisions, keeping in mind the benefits to the organisation, preparing reports, organising meetings, filing system, liaising with suppliers and inventory control.
